A couple of weekends ago one of my beloved feline companions Weinerskittels, a.k.a. Weenie, Queen Ween, Little Ween, passed over …. She would have been 18 next month.
Weenie was a talker like no other, you could almost carry on a conversation with her. Being part Maine Coon, she was a beautiful cat with gray, brown and white stripes and fluffy fur. She would swish her tail up and down when you called her name and meow very loudly. Weenie would get up on top of the computer table right where I’d be working and plop down in front of me. Oh! She talked to dead people, she would carry a stuffed bear in her mouth, one of the Build-A-Bear ones from a relative’s childhood, and in the middle of the night race across the apartment howling. When I’d come home I’d see her little face wherever she was in the apartment and shout out Weenie and she’d meow and come rushing toward me. She could also recognize every one of my vehicles when I’d pull into the driveway.
My mom never had animals growing up so when she came to live with me and my two cats, they took a bit of getting used to. I’m not at my place very much nowadays but Weenie would wake her up every morning meowing, she was hungry she wanted her mushies lol. Weenie got into stuff. You wouldn’t dare leave important documents, checkbooks or heaven forbid prints you just made of your paintings. There is still evidence all around the apartment of torn off papers and such. You’d here it as well, rip, rip, tear ,tear …Weinerskittels!! Her whole name of course when she had been naughty. She’d stop for a second look at you then go right back to shredding and tearing and spitting out the paper. My mom would look right into her little greenish yellow eyes and say “bad cat” and not really mean it of course.
Weenie seemed to have more fun with the men , she loved playing rough with them, meaning the two boyfriends I had (both having passed on ). They would wrestle with her on “her computer chair” and Weenie would turn upside down and tag them and run and come back and do it all over again. My current boyfriend got to know and love Weenie as well.He said she always reminds him of one of his cats who passed years ago. He was there with me both of us sobbing our heads off at the vet’s. The doctor said all her organs were perfect so he surmised there was something going on with her mind.
All of us, including many of my neighbors , love and miss her very much.
